Introduction

In Drive Mad, ordinary forward and reverse controls become an unexpectedly difficult driving puzzle game. In each short level, a unique type of car, truck, wheelbase, bridge, ramp, or platform is introduced that makes the same two controls play differently. Some cars may flip over from excessive acceleration, others have to be accelerated to make a jump. It therefore takes balancing skills more than racing skills. The ability to restart immediately is important because the mistakes you make will usually help you learn something new. A crazy level may eventually turn out to be very easy once players learn the exact amount of throttle required at a certain point.

How to Play Drive Mad

Use bursts of power going forward for vehicles that have a high center of mass or a loose front end. Reverse before the flip, not after the roof touches the floor. When you flip on ramps, apply only enough speed for clearing the gap since more speed will cause the car to spin in the air. Bridges that are about to crack need proper weight transfer, so do not press hard on the gas while driving on them. New vehicles may react in a different manner, so try a few meters first before attacking the entire level.

Controls

Use W, D, X, Up and Right to go forward, and S, A, Z, Down and Left to go back. Use the mouse to select different levels and to restart.
