Sausage Flip

Introduction

The game Sausage Flip takes a silly creature and gives it a physics challenge of launching from one surface and sticking the landing on the other surface. The sausage character is not able to move like a typical platform game character but allows the player to pull back, set an angle, and then release the body into a flip. Safe surfaces will be used to help the player plan the distance to jump and rotate, but there will also be difficult moving platforms that require good judgment skills from the player. Levels are kept tight, meaning that a bad launch doesn’t waste too much time. This allows for rapid restarts, making the game very addictive since each failure brings about one minor adjustment to the next attempt.

How to Play Sausage Flip

Retreat only far enough for the next jump onto the next landing. A good start may overjump a short platform and not be able to stick successfully. Try to land in the middle of a platform first, and once you know the way well, try the edges. Moving platforms take some patience. So make sure that the target is in your intended arc. If the sausage lands in the right spot but bounces off, adjust the angle so that more of the sausage body is in contact with the platform. Use instant retries to experiment with one change at a time. The best flights will use safe stick-and-stick landings and not rely on lucky flips.

Controls

Keyboard: None of the controls for the game are necessary in the standard version. Use the mouse to drag back to set power and angle, and then click to throw the sausage.

On the touchscreen, swipe back with one finger, choose an angle, and then throw it toward the next object.
